The skills I learnt this new year: how to create a link inside a blog post and how to change the favicon. I found the link creation tip here.

Now, what is a favicon? It's the short form of 'favorite icons'. According to Wikipedia a favicon is a file containing one or more small icons, most commonly 16×16 pixels, associated with a particular Web site or Web page. You can easily change the favicon by going to the "Layout" option in your blogger dashboard, then click "Edit" in the box for favicon, upload an image and click "Save". Your favicon is ready to go! You can design your favicon here.

HOW TO START MY BLOG

After months of deliberation, I have taken the plunge - finally! It's a cautious step though. I have opened a free account with blogger. I might purchase my own domain later.

I am taking my time with blogger, getting myself acquainted with its features. I have updated my profile, inserted my tracking ID, tweaked the layout a little bit. Pretty elementary stuff, actually.

The good thing about blogger is that they allow you to monetize your blog right away, with their built-in adsense program. As I have no traffic to my blog right now, I will  worry about it in the future.

So, it all boils down to the basic things. And as they say, let's begin at the beginning!

P.S. Google analytics tells me that I had a visitor from Germany, who stumbled here with the Firefox browser. Wow! He/she must have seen my empty blog. Lesson learnt- never start a blog and then leave it empty. Hmm, heavy stuff.

Double P.S. I think it's a virus. Everytime I post, there is a visit from Germany. Or is it Google Analytics?
